Carbon Neutral Annual Update

At JVAT, our commitment to sustainability goes beyond compliance, it’s part of how we create and look forward to a better future. Each year, we actively measure, manage, and offset our carbon footprint, ensuring that our operations reflect the same principles of responsibility and innovation that underpin our engineering and consulting work.

In line with international best practice under the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and Australia’s Climate Active framework, we quantified our operational emissions for the 2024/25 financial year.
As a consultancy business, most of our emissions come from electricity usage and business-related activities such as travel and material consumption. For this reporting year, we calculated a total of 171.12 tCO₂e which we have now fully offset.
This process builds on our ongoing program of transparency and accountability. Like in previous years, we combined real data from energy providers and travel partners with conservative estimates where full data was unavailable. Our approach is designed to ensure that we always account for more, not less, than our actual emissions footprint.
To neutralise these emissions, we partnered with Tasman Environmental Markets (TEM), a leader in transparent, high-quality carbon offsets. Our offsets support the CEPCO Wind Power Project, a renewable energy initiative delivering measurable, grid-level reductions by displacing fossil fuels. We specifically chose a wind project because renewable energy provides systemic decarbonisation, and bolsters the road to a renewable energy future.
By offsetting our 2024/25 emissions through wind power, we are reaffirming our dedication to a sustainable future. Yet this is only one step. We remain focused on reducing emissions at the source, supporting breakthrough technologies, and helping shape a resilient, climate-ready economy.
