Software Products & Training Solutions

Training

Our Next Generation Training Product delivers adaptive learning designed for operational, regulatory and technical readiness across defence environments. Built for engagement, collaboration and continual improvement, the platform enables learners to build practical skills, apply knowledge in context, and develop behaviours that align with real-world performance standards.
We achieve this by collaborating closely through workshops and discussions, adapting each session to be highly relevant to the participants’ experience and context. Throughout the course, we provide coaching and specialist advice, while encouraging practical conversations around current, real-world challenges. Our approach helps teams up-skill effectively through bespoke workshops and mentoring that align with their strategic needs.

System Safety Training

System Safety is a vital characteristic of all Defence capabilities, neglecting it has the potential to significantly impact the cost, delivery and overall operational effectiveness of capabilities throughout their in-service life.
Safety engineering provides justified confidence that Defence capabilities are safe, fit for purpose and environmentally compliant when operated and maintained within their defined configuration, role and environment.
Our System Safety Training provides the procedures, processes, tools and techniques to design, embed and execute a robust System Safety Program running in parallel to the systems engineering process. This results in safety engineering being an integral part of the design process and provides justified confidence that safety in design has been demonstrated through the application of safety requirements from relevant legislation, policy, regulation and standards.

System Engineering Training

Systems Engineering is the practice of converting the needs and objectives of stakeholders for a desired function or capability into specific system requirements, methodically realising system of elements to deliver that capability, and managing the engineering as the system progresses through its lifecycle. Correctly identifying and optimising the system to its requirements, constraints and budget are critical to delivering projects on-time & on-budget, and that enable Defence to utilise its integrated capabilities to their fullest potential.
Our Systems Engineering training courses provide students with a complete introduction to all facets of systems engineering across lifecycle phases. The training focuses on the Systems Engineering fundamentals, tools and techniques to identify stakeholder needs and requirements, decompose the intended operational concept, trade off design concepts, allocate requirements to system elements, manage interfaces, conduct verification and validation, and implement engineering management processes. The training also provides an understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering tools.

Aircraft Systems Training

Modern aircraft are comprised of increasingly complex and integrated systems that require a deep expertise to enable safe, competent and efficient fleet management. JVAT's aircraft systems training course syllabus is designed to provide the learners with a basic understanding of the major systems relevant for aviation, providing a standard level of ‘Content Knowledge’ which allows context to be applied to their decision-making processes. JVAT employs continuous professional improvement to review, reflect and make changes as required to maintain delivery content currency and alignment to the dynamic changing needs of the military aeronautical engineering and compliance environment.

Our training provides an understanding of key concepts for the following modules:
Aerodynamics including fixed-wing and rotary-wing lift, control, theory of flight, aerodynamic forces, stability, high-speed aerodynamics, flight controls and flight control systems.

Structures including aerospace metallurgy, aircraft construction and structural components, stresses, damage and repair, composite structures construction and repair, corrosion control and non-destructive testing techniques.

Mechanical Systems including landing gear system, hydraulic systems, environmental control systems, fuel management systems fuel additives, ice removal systems and servicing & maintenance.

Weight and Balance including W&B Theory, documentation, equipment, Centre of Gravity (CoG), ballast, computations, symmetry checks and inspections.

Powerplants including gas turbine propulsion systems, thermodynamics, design and construction, major components, engine control systems, power generation, indications, propeller systems and inspections & maintenance.

Electrical Systems including circuit fundamentals, electromagnetism, power generation, battery and ground power, circuit protection devices, aircraft warning systems, wiring and interconnection systems, and maintenance considerations.

Avionics including aircraft instrumentation systems principles and construction, instrumentation error, mechanics, radio communication systems, radar systems, electronic navigation systems, and avionics maintenance.

People Assurance | THRIVE

As employee stress, anxiety and depression continue to impact engagement, productivity and retention, employers across all sectors are turning to JVAT to enhance individual, team and organisational performance.
Mental fitness, like physical fitness, enhances our ability to engage more fully with life to realise our individual and collective potential. To live a purposeful and fulfilling life. To embrace challenge. To thrive.
Our program incorporates the 4 essential and symbiotic components of a mentally fit workforce:

Resilience

A resilient workforce has the ability to withstand, recover and grow in the face of stressors and changing demands.

Engagement

An engaged workforce is enthusiastic about their work and have a positive attitude towards company values.

Wellbeing

Generating health, prosperity, purpose and fulfilment within the work environment.

Leadership

Self-aware and supportive leaders that can develop high performing teams that embrace challenge.

Our Approach

We approach mental fitness with an engineering mindset – the risk-based application of science, mathematical methods, and empirical evidence. This systematic approach achieves meaningful outcomes to address the challenge of workplace stress and its impact on productivity and organisational culture.

We identify and prioritise mental fitness risks that exist within the workplace (the environment) and the workforce (your people) to generate targeted interventions that focus on preventative controls to stress realisation.

Delivery

Our team bring real-world personal experiences and systematic and pragmatic solutions, honed through exposure to stressful military and business environments – backed by the latest scientific studies.

The programs educate, motivate and empower employees to take control of their own resilience, at work and at home, by breaking the myth of work/life balance. They can be delivered face-to-face or online through a blended learning experience.

The Workshop

JVAT has delivered mental fitness programs to organisations of all shapes and sizes from global enterprises to small startups. The program delivers measurable and impactful changes to individual and team capacity in order to cope with the normal and abnormal stresses of business (and life), shifting perspectives on the ‘stress experience’ from a fixed to a growth mindset – from surviving to thriving.
